4th birthday of the “Light” club
‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Matthew 25:40
The Least of These
This Sunday “Light” club has turned four since its establishment! Birthday is a special occasion, which you want to share with the people you love. In addition to all of the adults who came for the church service and team members, we had more than forty children come and share this day with us. God makes amazing things! Four years ago, everything started with seven kids gathering in the schoolyard and today it is forty of them celebrating birthday in the building of the “Light” club! Since we moved to the new building “Light” club moved from Saturday to Sunday so the church service is starting simultaneously with the club. Therefore, club and church start from kid’s songs together then children move on with their program and adults stay for the rest of worship and church service. We believe these moments bind different age groups so that they are not always separated but have opportunity to learn from each other. In addition to kid’s songs everybody watched photos from these four past years of the club that reminded us of how everything started and progressed. Only during the moments when you stop and look back you can truly understand how drastically everything has changed. After that, we moved to the schoolyard where kids had to find sharpies and avoid being splattered with water by young men from the team. Guys did their job well and children loved it! They had much fun getting wet and escaping from water guns of the guys. The best is always kept for the end. Children finished the game and came back to the club to enjoy food with delicious and beautiful cake. Adults, who were done with church service, and kids mixed together in our back yard enjoying food and fellowship. The final treat of the day was a cup with club’s name together with personal postcard! Children left with a good mood, excited and hopefully they will be back next Sunday! Praise the Lord for all the blessings that He gives us and the work that He does in the hearts of these children!
