Cleaning day
Last Saturday “Light” church and club
organized cleaning day in the village of
Plesetske. Unfortunately, people throw away a
lot of garbage on the streets, in the forest, and
water. We do a cleaning day like this every
spring to clean after winter and encourage
people not to litter.
‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least
of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
Matthew 25:40
The Least of These
This time we had a small group of 18-20 people that divided
in 5 teams. Each team went on to clean their designated
area. We cleaned two main streets, around one of the lakes,
and piece on the outskirts of the village. Our result was 27
bags of glass, of which majority were bottles from alcohol,
and 39 bags of plastic and other waste, which, also,
contained many plastic bottles from alcohol. We hope, that
people will learn to value nature and will utilize their waste
appropriately.
