Excursion
‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Matthew 25:40
The Least of These
Excursions are always unusual and interesting. They give us a chance to observe and learn something new, spend good time with friends and leave our usual habitat. This time we visited ethnic complex that was built in the place of previous garbage dump called Ukrainian village. It always amazes us when people do something beautiful out of something ugly. What did we see there? We visited old houses that were transported from different regions of Ukraine. We observed their lifestyle and belongings. It was so cozy and comfortable in those little buildings that we even wanted to sleep on a big heater that they used to have in those times and eat Ukrainian national soup with bread cooked on open fire. Of course, we also visited a zoo! The most interesting animal there was a pig with curly hair. After that, we enjoyed hot tea in a restaurant that saved us from the cold. End of excursion was marked with a visit of orangery where we saw real bananas, papaya, lemons and oranges growing on the trees!
