Summer camp 2019
‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least
of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
Matthew 25:40
The Least of These
So, our five day camp "Treasures of the
Plesetske Sea" has ended. For three years the
"Light" church has been hosting such camps for
children in our village. The camp was visited by
115 children of age from 5 to 14. They learned
about treasures of every person's life -
friendship, honesty, appreciation and dreams.
These were the themes of our Bible lessons.
During these five days we had songs, fun dances, interesting
crafts, lots of games and delicious food. There was also an
exciting skit for every day about adventures, pirates and real
treasures. On the last day, many parents came to the closing
concert. They were very thankful for the camp and asked it to
be held every year. On the last day we gave out very high
quality, interactive, children’s Bibles as a present for kids, which
hopefully will be an alternative to the smartphones.
We want to thank God for doing such a great work in
lives of children, their parents, and entire village of
Plesetske. We only do what He calls us to do and He
is the one who changes lives and brings light to the
lost ones. Also, we want to thank all those people
who supported us financially or in prayer, all the
team members, who sacrificed their life and time to
serve the Lord. Without your support and input, this
camp would not happen! We wish Plesetskoe and all
Ukraine revival and strong daily belief in God.
A team of 38 talented, dedicated and fun people
gathered to teach children these values, not only by
words but with illustrations and own example. Team
members came from Plesetske, different nearby
villages and even from far away towns. Despite the
storm that swept Plesetske the day before the camp
began, and in the absence of electricity, we were
determined to start the camp. Because children are
particularly sensitive to the promise of adults and
some of them were waiting for the camp all year long.
