Thanksgiving day
‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least
of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
Matthew 25:40
The Least of These
Last Sunday “Light” church celebrated thanksgiving. Kids club and
church service themes were dedicated to the topic of being thankful.
According to our tradition, people brought food to the table and
shared it with everyone after church. It happed to be that next day
was day of all men so we celebrated it too. Women acknowledged
men for who they are and what they do and in response men talked
about how much they appreciate women. It was a good and warm
time of fellowship. For desert women brought a beautiful and tasty
cake with a sing that said: “Boys thank you that you are near”.
After having lunch together people got to take photos with a
photo zone and in the backyard. Fall made trees and grass look
golden, green, and brown so the timing for the photos was perfect.
Many people stayed after the photo shoot and scattered around to
rest and play games. We hanged around for couple hours
fellowshipping and playing board games. When the time came to
have dinner girls used leftovers from lunch and decorations from the
photo zone (grapes, apples, broccoli, cabage) to fix meal for everyone. When diner was over those who
stayed cleaned the house and watched a movie together.
It was a long day! We walked in the church at 9.30 am and walked out at 10.30 pm. However, everyone
enjoyed it very much. We worked and rested together just like a family.
