Spring 2004 Sevastopol
We were able to spend time with our staff member Oksana Lehan. This team consisted of Angelo, Kim & Annaliese Weynen, Vitaly Dudukaloff, Chris Watkins, and Rich and Sherrel Richmond.
We were able to visit Orphanage House #1 & 2. These children are the children who go to Camp Gorney each summer and we are able to spend two weeks at that camp each year with the children. It was good to see familiar faces and to be able to spend quality time with them.
Chris brought gifts and passed them out to the children and staff. We played basketball, visited their craft room, saw their rooms where they stayed. Their furnishings were meager but sufficient. Their craft teacher is a blessing. She loves the children and the Lord Jesus Christ and it shows in all their crafts that they produce.
At times there is much persecution for her faith. We were also able to watch while a dance teacher came to work with some of the girls to do a dance. They were so excited that we were there. Their performance was to take place in couple of days and they wanted us to come. So we agreed.
It took some effort just to find the building but we managed to get there before they were on stage. When they spotted us there they jumped up and started waving. Then they made some people moved so that some of our team could sit with them. There was no one else there to watch them. We were so glad that the Lord made it possible for us to fill that need in their lives. What a blessing it is that the Lord allows us to be sera get parents to these children.
