The Kid's Crusade team was lead by Oksana, Sherrel and myself. We did high-
impact VBS outreaches in 5 different towns and villages around Sevastopol; Balaklava, Our Church in Sevastopol, Pobeda, Shtormovoye and Chernoreche. I must say that this summer was the most challenging outreaches yet. There was more opposition than we had ever faced before, but with each distraction there was a double portion of grace from above and doors were opened that had not been opened before. We should never be surprised, but always are, at the mighty hand of God at work when we are on the mission field.
Alex, Sherrel and I were invited to meet with a church official and his wife one evening. They began to pour out from their heart what they wanted to see their church do concerning ministry to children. They also wanted to minister along side of The Least of These in the future; to put together teams from their church and join forces for the Kingdom of God to minister in the orphanages.
Wow! This is what we have been praying for. Our prayer has been that a local church would catch the vision and begin to see and understand that the orphans are truly the lost and forgotten children. That they need to be loved, nurtured and mentored with Christ-
like values. What a victory!! Seeds have been sown, feet have been planted, the foundation has been laid in Christ Jesus ñ what more needs to be said.
We had a great team! They worked hard preparing for each day's ministry. The crafts are always a big hit with the kids. We were able to hand out the Life Story of Jesus, toothbrushes and toothpaste, and a Christian coloring book in 3 languages (Russian, Ukrainian & English). Everywhere we went we were asked by the children if we would be coming back next year. It is our hope and prayer that we will be able to return to the same villages plus visit new areas. If the Lord is cultivating the soil we want to be there to plant the seeds.
Sherrel and I will be returning to Ukraine in November to continue to build relationships with the local churches, have outreaches in Kerch and Sevastopol and make preparations for next summer's outreaches.
Thank you for your continued support and prayers. Through you support and prayers we have been able to reach hundreds of children with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
